Grand Prix

Grand Prix Series – Adirondack Runners

The Grand Prix Series is the flagship competitive series of Adirondack Runners, designed to recognize consistent participation and performance across the club’s premier annual races. The series celebrates athletic achievement, long-term commitment, and the shared tradition of competitive running in the greater Glens Falls and Adirondack region.

Open to runners of all abilities, the Grand Prix Series rewards dedication throughout the season while honoring Adirondack Runners’ long-standing history of organized racing excellence.

How the Grand Prix Series Works

Eligibility

  • Participants must be current members of Adirondack Runners.

  • Runners must register for the Grand Prix Series prior to or during the season.

  • Participation in eligible Grand Prix races is required to earn points.

Scoring & Points

  • Points are awarded based on overall finish and age-group placement.

  • A runner’s best finishes across the designated Grand Prix races count toward their season total.

  • Scoring details are standardized across all races to ensure fairness and consistency.

Participation Requirements

  • Runners must complete a minimum number of Grand Prix races to qualify for overall awards.

  • Only officially timed results are eligible for scoring.

  • Runners must follow all race and series rules to remain eligible.

    • Firecracker 4 – 4 Miles | Saratoga | July 4

    • Cerveza Shuffle—10k | Saratoga | August 8

    • Irun Local Half—Half marathon | Saratoga | September 20

    • Mohawk Hudson Marathon—26.2 miles | Albany | October 12

    • Fall Back 5—5 miles | Saratoga | November 1

    • Stockadeathon—15k | Schenectady | November 8

    • Rotary Run – 5k | Glens Falls | April 18

    • **Trail Series – 5k | Glens Falls | May 19

    • Memorial Mile – 1 Mile | Glens Falls | May 25

    • Rail Trail to the Bridge – 5k | Granville | May 30

    • Club Track Mile—1 mile | Queensbury High School | August 8 (part of Summer Track series so this is FREE)

Each race is professionally organized and reflects the tradition and quality associated with Adirondack Runners events. **Indicates an Adirondack Runners Club race. You must volunteer for at least (1) TAR Club race to be eligible for an award.

Grand Prix Series awards are presented annually at the Adirondack Runners Grand Prix Awards Banquet every February, recognizing top overall finishers and age-group champions. These awards reflect not only athletic performance, but consistent participation and commitment throughout the season.

Recognition in the Grand Prix Series is considered one of the club’s highest competitive honors.

MILEAGE HIGH CLUB

The Mileage High Club is an annual mileage-tracking and recognition program offered by Adirondack Runners, the premier running club in the greater Glens Falls and Adirondack region. The program rewards consistency, commitment, and long-term running achievement through cumulative mileage tracking and annual recognition.

Miles accumulate from year to year, allowing members to build lifetime running totals while earning awards and certificates for each program year.

Mileage totals are submitted four times annually:

  • April 1

  • July 1

  • October 1

  • January 1

Awards & Recognition

Mileage awards and certificates are presented at the annual Adirondack Runners Grand Prix Awards Banquet, held each February.

Program Guidelines

Registration must be completed by May 1 of the program year to qualify for awards.

Mileage totals carry forward year to year, supporting long-term and lifetime mileage recognition.

Awards are based on annual and cumulative mileage milestones.

  • Register for the Mileage Program

  • Members must complete the Mileage High Club registration form and submit it by email to be eligible for awards.

  • Track Your Running Miles

  • Participants record all running miles completed during the program year

  • Quarterly Mileage Submissions

SUMMER TRACK SERIES

The Summer Track Series is a free, weekly track program hosted by Adirondack Runners, open to both youth and adults of all ages and abilities. The series runs every Tuesday evening in June and July at the Queensbury High School Track and is designed to be welcoming, fun, and accessible for the entire community.

Whether you are a competitive runner looking to test your fitness or a parent bringing kids to try track events in a supportive environment, the Summer Track Series offers something for everyone.

When & Where

  • When: Every Tuesday in June and July

  • Time: 6:00 PM

  • Location: Queensbury High School Track

  • Cost: Free

  • Who Can Participate: All ages and ability levels

Events Offered

Each week features a variety of track events, which may include:

  • 50 meters

  • 100 meters

  • 200 meters

  • 400 meters

  • 800 meters

  • 1 mile

  • 4×100 relay

Event offerings may vary week to week to keep the program engaging and inclusive for all participants.

Volunteers Needed

The Summer Track Series is made possible entirely through volunteers. Assistance is always welcome with timing, event coordination, and participant support. Volunteering is a great way to give back while being part of a fun, community-focused event

Weather & Cancellations

Weather-related cancellations or schedule changes are posted on the Adirondack Runners Facebook page. Participants are encouraged to check social media on event days when weather may be questionable.
